Sorting Real-time rendered video installation (2005/2009) The real-time based video installation Sorting includes a surveillance camera continuously registering the actual gallery space, a computer operating on the incoming camera image in real-time, and a projection of the processed, reorganized camera image. The pixels (of the incoming camera image) are being sorted by its color into a horizontally orientated gradation from light to dark. The perspective changes from depth to surface. The image is accompanied by a sound track (continuously being generated according to the shift of the image). The real-time process creates a self-generated system where the piece is both framing and mirrorizing the reality of the medium presented to it. Find link to video documentation of the installation here.
