Pieces of Bits While Disassembling (for IKEA)

Site-specific real-time rendered light-, video and sound installation for the IKEA Aasane store, Bergen, NOR (2012) Collaborative work: Trond Lossius (sound), Anna Wignell (image/light- and video installations)

The site-specific installation Pieces of Bits While Disassembling (for IKEA) consists of real-time rendered sound, light and video. It was made as a site-specific installation work for the IKEA store in Aasane, Bergen, Norway, and was a collaborative work between Anna Wignell and the Norwegian visual artist, composer and musician Trond Lossius commissioned by the Borealis Festival. The installation could be seen as an ongoing "organizing of norms and standards", and an exploration of formal aspects relating to interior design, to IKEA and to interior space in general.

The installation consists of sound, light and video and thematically deals with formal aspects relating to interior design, to the IKEA brand and to interior space in general. In the installation, IKEA's branding vocabulary and standard dimensions are being appropriated and explored to address issues of built-in power structures in our closest surroundings, our interiors.
