Rendering 360; Reinterpreting the White, Striped, Warm Real-time rendered video (2005) A video sequence is repeatedly being processed by a computer. The visual field changes due to conditions/prerequisities (of pan and zoom) that varies over time; for each time the sequence is repeated, an arbitrary, unforeseen displacement takes place/is created. A voice generator is commenting on what, for the moment, is in the visual field; the comments changes according to how the sequence is continuously and repeatedly being processed. The reality is being reduced (abstracted) and coded by the language. The piece Rendering 360; Reinterpreting the White, Striped, Warm explores the relation between the language and the reality that it is representing. The home interior serves as a back in this self-portrait where the image oscillates between figuration and abstraction.
